I don't think anyone has posted about this, apologies if someone has though I recently saw a good system in a game in development called Rim World where the characters don't have a health bar or health number instead each body part seems to have an individual health number assigned, for example the head would have a health of 5, torso would have something like 15, arms and legs would have 10 or something like that which allows the game to make semi-realistic injuries. If arm or leg health is reduced to zero then they can use the limb, for legs means they can't walk and such.

Just curious about how injuries and health will be done in Astrobase Command as well as things like illnesses.
